Project Coordinator, Lurederra Technological Center is a non-profit organization which performs RTD activities as way of achieving economic and societal development at regional, national and international scale. Applied technical research is based mainly in two well defined areas: new materials and advanced environment, fields in which the Center counts on wide experience and knowledge.
In the framework of the present project, the Center will make use of its expertise in the field of waste water treatment processes, and will take advantage of test and experiences carried out so far today. The Centre will carry out the tasks consisting of designing the treating system. The entity will also be in charge of the implementation of the prototype, in which will take place the initial purification tests. As a result of the tests performed, the Center will be in charge of specifying the necessary adjustment of the prototype, always being supported by the other project partners. During the tests, phosphates treating capacity will be assessed. Finally, the Centre will be in charge of implementing the prototype in SMSA WWTP, working together in the tests at semi-industrial scale.
As project coordinator, Lurederra will be in charge of coordinating all project actions and carrying out the follow-up of the tasks, and will also act as intermediate between project partners whenever its needed.
Magnesitas Navarras, S.A.
The Project Partner Magnesitas Navarras, S.A. (MAGNA) makes use since 1945 of the Magnesite (Magnesium carbonate) deposit situated in the north of Navarre (Eugui), extracting a mineral from which MgO is obtained through a complex mining and industrial process.
During production of these main products, several by-products suitable to be used for phosphate treatment are obtained. Therefore, MAGNA will be in charge of providing the precipitating agent in the adequate conditions for performing the removing process, with the final aim of using a byproduct and valorizing it.
Servicios Montejurra, S.A.
The main activity of the company Servicios de Montejurra (SMSA) focuses on urban wastes management, including collecting and later treatment, as well as management and promotion of the rational use of water, always in the region of Tierra Estella, situated in the west of Navarra. In order to succeed in this field, SMSA is endowed with the appropriate material and human resources, where following are worth to be mentioned: a wide fleet of tankers, a pool of water deposits strategically distributed, and several WWTP, being the biggest the one situated in Estella.
Along the project, SMSA will provide their facilities for implementing the new technology developed. Initially, the company will contribute by providing the technical knowledge and the required information about their facilities, with the aim of properly defining the technical requirements of the treatment device. Once the prototype has been implemented, the company will carry out the tests of the prototype in situ.
